Divinely Stepping into Purpose

Divinely Stepping into Purpose

1Samuel 9:19-20 (GNB)
Samuel answered, "I am the seer. Go on ahead of me to the place of worship. Both of you are to eat with me today. Tomorrow morning I will answer all your questions and send you on your way. As for the donkeys that were lost three days ago, don't worry about them; they have already been found. But who is it that the people of Israel want so much? It is you---you and your father's family."

1Samuel Chapters 9 and 10 relay the story of a young man named Saul who obediently went on an errand to search for his father's missing donkeys. While on that assignment, God met him through Prophet Samuel and anointed him to be the first ever king of Israel. David was also on his way to give his brothers food when he encountered Goliath and God used him to manifest an exploit that saved and amazed the entire nation of Israel, 1Sam.17:17-18. Never take any assignment that is assigned to you for granted. God can meet with you and anoint you for exploits even when you least expect them. God has greater things in store for you than you have in mind for yourself. Saul was out looking for his father's donkeys and God was looking for him to be the first king of the whole nation of Israel. You will divinely step into God's purpose for your life this year. God will bless you and use you in ways you have never imagined before.

Please do not doubt or disqualify yourself and do not resist God. Instead, yield yourself to Him. When Saul heard that he was the one the entire nation of Israel was looking for, 1Samuel 9:21 says that Saul answered, "I belong to the tribe of Benjamin, the smallest tribe in Israel, and my family is the least important one in the tribe. Why, then, do you talk like this to me?" He sounded just like Gideon did after God chose him for exploits. Saul actually went to hide when Prophet Samuel came to make the announcement to the whole of Israel, 1Sam.10:21-23. Be like David instead. Allow God to use you. God will equip and empower you to fulfill His purpose and to bring glory to His Name.

PRAYER FOCUS: Tell God to anoint you, direct you and use you to accomplish great things as you faithfully carry out your assignments.
