MESSAGE

The fact that God answers prayers is without doubt. Anytime you call on Him, as long as it is in the Name of Jesus, you can be sure the answer will come. Jesus in John 14:14 said,

“If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.”

LIGHT IN A DARK WORLD.

Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world (Philippians 2:14-15).

You’re the light of the world; you’re a city set on a hill (Matthew 5:14); meaning that you’re the solution to the darkness in the world. The Bible says, “For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people...” (Isaiah 60:2). The gross darkness in the world is a sign that it’s your time to arise, shine and light up your world. Romans 8:19 says, “For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God.” The world is waiting for you to manifest the glory of God, to free it from the decay and corrupting influences of Satan.

There’re still many who don’t know who Jesus really is; to them, He’s a great religious leader. But Jesus isn’t a mere religious leader or reformist; He’s Himself God. You have to study the Word of God to discover this. In John 5:39, He said, ‘search the Scriptures, for they testify of me.’ The Scriptures testify of Jesus as Deity; He’s co-equal with God. John 1:1 says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” This is talking about Jesus; He’s the living and incarnate Word.

I affirm that my spirit is in sync with the Spirit of God. Daily, my heart and mind are open to receive that personal Word of power, victory and triumph! I am completely yielded to the Word, and the Word is causing me to prevail and excel in all that I do. I can never be stagnant or barren in my walk of faith. This is my year of flourishing, my profiting is evident for all to see. God's Word is causing me to spread, flourish and make progress on every side. All that I do is commanded to prosper. I know who I am, and what belongs to me. I am Abraham’s seed, an heir of God and a joint- heir with Christ.

TWO DESTINIES, ONE WAY

-MATTHEW 7:13-20

KEY VERSE:

"Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it" (Matthew 7:14).

One of the difficulties travelers on first visit usually face is finding their way. The difficulty becomes complex if the traveler comes to a crossroads where he/she has to take a decision which way to go. At such a time, it becomes imperative to seek a guide. The same is true of every person who is a stranger in the journey of life. Two ways are before us all. One is straight and narrow which leads to eternal life; the other is broad with a wide gate. The first way leads to eternal life with God but the latter to hell with Satan. The text gives an example of broadway travelers - the false prophets and their followers. These are easily identified by the evil fruit they bear. Their evil character and conduct are manifest to them, to onlookers and God. Jesus Christ is the true and only way to life. To find Him, you must humble yourself, turn from your sins and accept Him as Lord and Saviour. That is why the way is narrow but not impassable. When you come on this way, your life is transformed and you are able to bear fruit of righteousness. You cannot be born into this way nor come on it by good works. Entrance is only through repentance and faith in Christ. The broadway is the way of the world. It is so wide that there is no restraint. All men are born into it. Broadway travelers are also known by the works of the flesh they manifest. The choice is yours today, and your choice will ultimately determine where you will spend eternity; either in hell or in heaven. Are you on the narrow or on the broadway? Are you living a righteous or sinful life? If you are still on the broadway, it is not difficult to come into the narrow way. Jesus has paid the price for your redemption. Come now, for all things are ready for you.

MESSAGE

Insincerity is one of the greatest reasons behind the downfall of many believers today. Some people claim to love God, but the kind of fruit they manifest makes people question the genuineness of their salvation. Loving God is not just by words, it must reflect in all that we do and in our approach to life.

The eyes of understanding are flooded with light and I can see the right opportunity everywhere I go. I know what to do; I know when to do what to do; and I know how to do what to do, through the guidance and light that I've received from the Holy Spirit and the Word. The unfavourable economic situation in the world isn’t set against me; therefore, I am not moved by what I see or hear! I am an answer from God, and through me shall the nations of the earth be blessed. I am the seed of Abraham, and it’s my heritage to soar in prosperity even in austere times. Bible in one year: Genesis 21:23, Isaiah 45:14-25, Hymn: Sing hymn 9 open heavens MESSAGE One of the characteristics which the Holy Spirit warns us will be rife in the last days is hypocrisy (1st Timothy 4:2). No wonder the Lord Jesus Christ made it very clear that many who expect to be granted access through the pearly gates will be turned back on the last day (Luke 13:24-27). Do you know that many bishops, pastors, general overseers, apostles, etc who are professing Christ today will not make it on the day of judgement? May that not be your lot in Jesus’ Name. To prevent this from happening to you, you need to periodically examine yourself to see if you are still in the faith, as received from the Lord. 2nd Corinthians 13:5 says, “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?” Ask yourself if your name is still written in the Book of Life. Does the Spirit of God still bear witness with your spirit that you are a bona fide child of God? Is your conscience free from guilt and dead works? Can the devil and his agents testify that truly, you are no longer in their camp? Don’t pretend to be a child of God when you know you are on your way to perdition. The greatest challenges Jesus had with the Pharisees was the issue of their mindset. They appeared to have good intentions, but it was all a lie. Open Heavens Devotional 2017 Sunday 26 February 2017:-Hypocritical? Jesus knew the state of their hearts. The human heart is like a computer. Whatever you feed it with will determine what comes out of it. The heart of a man is what shapes his destiny. The reason why some people come to church and are still not blessed is the state of their heart. Their hypocritical hearts are hardened, and so they cannot receive anything from God. If the Pharisees had allowed the message of Jesus Christ to penetrate their hearts, their perception would have been different. If you allow God to work on your heart, your breakthrough will be immeasurable. Our heart is a reflection of who we are. Every time Jesus performed a miracle, instead of being happy that someone in need had received help from God, the Scribes and Pharisees would rather question by what authority He did it (John 9:13-27, Luke 20:1-2). That is what a hypocritical heart looks like. I wish we all knew that God is watching not just our actions but also our motives. Open Heavens 2017. He hears and watches everything we do behind closed doors. There is nothing hidden from Him that will not be exposed on the last day. Hypocrites know how to find faults in the lives of others, but their own lives are like sepulchres which appear beautiful on the outside but are full of dead men’s bones (Matthew 23:27). God wants us to reflect a life of righteousness and transparency, a life that radiates the glory of God, a life of virtue and of good works. Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place (2 Corinthians 2:14).

1John 4:4 says, “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” Then Paul, by the Spirit, in a most poetic and inspiring manner submitted in Romans 8:35-37, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?....Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.”

With this understanding, when you face tests, trials, and persecutions, when the fierce storms and pressures of life billow against you, refuse to be moved, because you’re more than a conqueror. Your testimony is assured, because you’re a victor in Christ Jesus. Nothing can overwhelm you, because the greater One lives in you and He causes you to triumph always, and in every place.

Offering bribes, gifts, gratifications, is a well-oiled strategy in the secular world to influence decisions, solicit assistance, curry favour and pervert the course of justice. King Saul was very adept at this strategy. He had become envious of David whose popularity had spread throughout Israel because of his military conquests.

…and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever. (Isaiah 32:17).

Our opening verse reminds of the true definition of faith in Hebrews 11:1 which says, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith is the quiet, confident assurance of what we hope for and the reality of things yet unseen.

That’s the reason Jesus said, “…If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you” (Matthew 17:20).

The effect of righteousness is faith; mountain-moving faith; with which you affirm that all things are possible unto you, living without fears, worries, conflicts, and agitations. Isaiah 54:14 says,

My life is for the glory of God and His beauty, excellence, grace are manifested through me. The very life and nature of God is at work in me now. In the days of Moses, truth and judgment came together; and if truth bore testimony against you, you were judged on the spot. But it’s not so with the Gospel. The Bible says, “Mercy and truth are met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other. Truth shall spring out of the earth; and righteousness shall look down from heaven” (Psalms 85:10-11). In the Gospel, mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed each other.

I affirm that the anointing of God's Spirit is on me and there is no impossibility in my life. I refuse to see things from the natural plain of life because I and the Father are one. Thereafter, I see, talk and think only through the Word of God! My life is programmed to go upward and forward only, moving from glory to glory! I am not moved by what I feel, see or perceive through the senses! My life is regulated by the Word! I dwell in Christ, in the secret place of the Most High,
