Can't you see that his kindness is intended to turn you from your sin? *The Lord appeared to us in the past, saying: "I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with loving-kindness.”

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble (James 4:6).
Grace is the supernatural influence at work in you that causes everything you do to prosper; it’s a divine enablement that causes increase, promotion, and progress! However, the degree to which you let the grace of God in you reflect on the outside is up to you. The more you fill your heart with God’s Word and have the Holy Spirit work in your life, the greater the workings of grace in your life.

But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the gift of Christ (Ephesians 4:7).
Romans 5:17 says, “For if by one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.” This lets you know you’re not to pray, “O God, give me abundance of grace”; rather, you’re to “receive” abundance of grace. The key word is “receive,” which is translated from the Greek word “lambano” and it means to take possession, to seize something and make it yours.

Then I was very sore afraid,3 And said unto the king, Let the king live for ever: why should not my countenance be sad, when the city, the place of my fathers’ sepulchres, lieth waste, and the gates thereof are consumed with fire?4 Then the king said unto me, For what dost thou make request? So I prayed to the God of heaven.5 And I said unto the king, If it please the king, and if thy servant have found favour in thy sight, that thou wouldest send me unto Judah, unto the city of my fathers’ sepulchres, that I may build it.6 And the king said unto me, (the queen also sitting by him,) For how long shall thy journey be? and when wilt thou return? So it pleased the king to send me; and I set him a time.7 Moreover I said unto the king, If it please the king, let letters be given me to the governors beyond the river, that they may convey me over till I come into Judah;

It is a tremendous privilege to be used by God to serve and minister to His children in any capacity at all. The work God is doing among His flock is invaluable and significant to God. It is a work with eternal value. Every child of God is very valuable to God. Remember that God paid for every one of us with the precious blood of Jesus His Son. Always remember that they belong to God and you will give account to God for how you have served, ministered and been a blessing to His children.
Endeavour to reassure God’s children of their value in the way that you love, serve and minister to them. Do not be discouraged in your love and service to God’s children. Instead, remain passionate and intentional about following God’s leading. God Himself will reward you greatly for your love and service to His children. Luke 12:42-44 (NKJV) says, “and the Lord said, "Who then is that faithful and wise steward, whom his master will make ruler over his household, to give them their portion of food in due season? Blessed is that servant whom his master will find so doing when he comes. Truly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all that he has.” Selflessly and willingly feed God’s children with the love and truth of the gospel of Christ. In the Good News Bible, 1Peter 5:2 says, ... be shepherds of the flock that God gave you and to take care of it willingly, as God wants you to, and not unwillingly. Do your work, not for mere pay, but from a real desire to serve. As you thank God for His children and pray for them, God will continue to empower and direct you so that you can continue to be a blessing to them. PRAYER: Ask God to continue to empower and direct you to love, serve and be a blessing to His house and His children.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38).
The Holy Spirit is God’s gift to you. Part of His ministry in your life is that He makes the Kingdom of God real to you, so that while you’re in this earth, you live as though you’re in heaven. He imbues you with power and ability to live supernaturally and do supernatural things. No wonder Jesus said to His disciples, _*“…tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high”*_ (Luke 24:49), and when the Holy Spirit came, they were endued with power.

THE GIFT OF FELLOWSHIP
"God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord" (1 Corinthians 1:9).
Being born again, you’re in fellowship with Jesus Christ. The Greek word for fellowship is “koinonia,” which refers to oneness, partnership, communion, and sharing. We’re one with the Lord, and it’s the greatest thing about our Christianity. It’s the whole essence of the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ; His vicarious suffering, and triumphant resurrection brought us into oneness with God. It made us joint heirs with Christ (Romans 8:17). You didn’t qualify for it; you didn’t work your way there; it happened through His calling in Christ Jesus.

And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him. *If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. *So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (2 Corinthians 5:21).
Not only has God given us the gift of righteousness, He’s also made us His righteousness. Part of what this means is that we bear fruits of righteousness. Jesus said, “I am the vine, ye are the branches...” (John 15:5). The beauty of a tree is in its branches. You’re the “branch” of Jesus Christ, which means you carry the beauty of the Son of God.

Or take ships as an example. Although they are so large and are driven by strong winds, they are steered by a very small rudder wherever the pilot wants to go. Likewise the tongue is a small part of the body, but it makes great boasts. Consider what a great forest is set on fire by a small spark. The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole person, sets the whole course of his life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. |

VICTORY THROUGH PRAYER AND PRAISE
-2 CHRONICLES 20:1-19
KEY VERSE:
"And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah" (2 Chronicles 20:3).
Dwight L. Moody was not educated. His letters were full of grammatical errors. His physical appearance was not all that good. His voice and tone were very irritating. But these handicaps did not prevent God from using him to shake two continents at his own time. True to the foregoing is a replica of character in today’s text – King Jehoshaphat. In this passage, Judah did not do anything to provoke the attack from their enemies. The children of Moab and the children of Ammon, combined with Mount Seir to fight Judah. Jehoshaphat resorted to a warfare of prayer and praise, and sought God’s intervention. He defeated his enemies because God was on his side. At times, you could find yourself in such a situation as this. If it does not happen to an individual, it could happen to a family, a church or a nation. Sometimes, the people you trusted or relied upon may turn against you, rallying forces and wars against you. Some institutions may close their doors against you. What we do at such a time matters? We should be able to plead our cause before God. If we are in a good relationship with Him, if we have not done anything to warrant the upsurge of the enemies against our lives, families, church or nation, God will come to our defence. King Jehoshaphat could intercede on behalf of Judah before God, knowing fully that their hearts were in a good condition with God. In times of problems, it is not only the leaders that should come to God. All the people, young and old, should come together before God and plead their cause. God is always ready to answer the prayer of His people. He is always ready to send us the best kind of deliverance in times of national calamities and family distresses.
Thought for the day: There is power and victory in the prayer of unity.
