Do Not Stop the Flow

Do Not Stop the Flow

SATURDAY
AUGUST. 19

2 Kings 4:4-6 (NKJV)
And when you have come in, you shall shut the door behind you and your sons; then pour it into all those vessels, and set aside the full ones." So she went from him and shut the door behind her and her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured it out. Now it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said to her son, "Bring me another vessel." And he said to her, "There is not another vessel." So the oil ceased.

Yesterday, we studied about how the little oil belonging to the prophet’s widow miraculously overflowed and was used to pay her debts and take care of her and her sons. Today, we will focus on how our capacity affects the flow of God’s unlimited grace and power in and through us. It was the widow and her sons that stopped the miraculous overflow of that oil when they concluded that all empty vessels had been filled. The oil did not stop flowing because that was all that God provided; it stopped flowing because that was all that they were able to receive at that time. The extent to which you believe God and make yourself available will determine the extent to which His unlimited power will flow both in you and through you.

The extent to which you can see vessels or opportunities around you for God to move, to touch and bless lives will determine how much God will move and touch lives through you. Just as God said to Abraham in Genesis 13:14-15, God is also telling you to lift up your eyes and look, because He is ready to give you as far as your eyes can see. He can do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or think according to the power that works in you, Eph.3:20. Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard and minds have not imagined what God has in store for you, 1Cor.2:9. Do not think you have arrived. Forget what is behind and press on to the greater things ahead of you, Phil.3:13-14. Keep walking in love. Enlarge your faith. You will do greater works, John 14:12. You will experience more of God.

PRAYER: I am ready, Lord, for the greater and more glorious things you are set to do in my life. Touch me and use me more, Lord!
