1John 5:14-15 (NIV), John 15:7 (NKJV), Romans 10:17 (NKJV) This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him. *If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. *So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
One thing that differentiates our faith from that of the world is that it is based on the Word of God. We have the God-kind of faith. We believe, speak and act on what God believes and says in His Word about us. Hebrews 13:5b-6 (NKJV) says, “for He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." So we may boldly say: "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?"
Our faith is not based on assumption but on revelation. God is not obligated to bring our words to pass; He is obligated to bring His word to pass. In the same way it is illogical to hold someone responsible for a promise the person did not make to you, it is illogical to do the same with God. You must know God’s mind and His promises towards you in order to stand in faith and hold onto God for them. Everything that God does must be according to His will. Do you know what God’s will is concerning your life? His will for your life is clearly stated in His word and in Christ.
What has God said about your life and situation? You can say it in your own words but it must be based on God’s word. If you are ready to study God’s word, the Holy Spirit is always ready to guide you to what God has said about you and to remind you of it also. Trust God. Keep hearing God’s word; especially the revelation about the things that God has done for you in Christ. God is not a man and He cannot lie. If He has said anything about you, He will surely bring it to pass, Num.23:19. Keep standing on God’s Word. It is already your reality.
ACTION POINT: Ask God to fill your heart with His word concerning your life and situation. Then pray in line with God’s word.
