Do Not Relent In Doing Good

Do Not Relent In Doing Good

TUESDAY
AUGUST. 22

1Timothy 6:18 (NKJV), Titus 3:8 (NIV), Ephesians 2:10 (NIV)Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share. *This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone. *For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Some people are afraid to do good because of the concern that their good may be used against them or that they will be taken advantage of. Others have been so poorly treated that they have made up their minds that they will no longer endeavour to do good to anyone. As a child of God, your attitude must be different. God has empowered you and me in Christ to do good works. Acts 10:38 (NKJV) speaks of “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good.” Doing good is your nature. God is good and you are God’s child and so you are good.

Romans 12:21 (GNB) says, “do not let evil defeat you; instead, conquer evil with good.” Do not allow the evil of others to cause you to do evil yourself. You have so much of God’s goodness in you that can consume and overcome all evil thrown at you. Child of God, do not be weary in doing good, 2Thes.3:13. Your good is blessing and healing lives and you are making the world a better place.

Remember that you yourself will reap abundance of good measures in due season, Gal.6:9. God Himself will reward you by using people that you may not even expect (Luke 6:38); not necessarily the people that you do good unto. Allow God to heal and restore you if you have been hurt. Your hurt has worked out together for your good. Get back up and continue to do good. Be sure to be guided by wisdom, but do not stop doing good.

PRAYER FOCUS:
Thank God for how He has empowered you to do good works and receive His grace to continue to do good.
