Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV), John 14:27
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. *Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Peace is the nature of God in us that keeps us calm and unafraid, even amidst challenges, troubles and storms. In our second text above, Jesus reassures us that it is His own peace that has been given unto us. Based on a careful review of the life of Jesus, it is evident that there was no situation strong enough to shake Jesus and cause Him to lose His peace. Instead of being troubled by storms or influenced by the insecurity of others, He brought calm to the storms and stirred up faith in the lives of others. This will continually be your testimony also because the same peace that Jesus has is what He has given you.

The peace we have with God (because of the sacrifice of Christ for us) is what guarantees us divine peace in every area of our lives. Our peace as believers is also born out of our revelation of who God is and our revelation of God’s great will and presence that abides with us. He is our Shepherd that leads us beside still waters. The peace of God in us makes us whole and able to hear God’s voice, think straight and make progress no matter our circumstances. It was this peace of God that propelled Apostle Paul to strengthen and encourage others in a troubled sea, Acts 27:20-22.

The extent of our peace reflects the extent of our rest in God. Because we have entered into God’s rest by our faith in Christ (Heb.4:3), all that we do extends from a place of rest. Maintaining a posture of peace does not mean that we sit idle. On the contrary, it causes us to confront our lives with confidence and boldness as we walk in line with God’s will, no matter the situation prevailing around us..

FAITH DECLARATION:
I have Christ’s peace in me. No situation troubles me. My presence brings divine calm into situations and the lives of others.
