*You Operate by the Higher Law of the Spirit**
Romans 8:3-4 (NLT) The law of Moses was unable to save us because of the weakness of our sinful nature.
So God did what the law could not do. He sent his own Son in a body like the bodies we sinners have. And in that body God declared an end to sin’s control; over us by giving his Son as a sacrifice for our sins. He did this so that the just requirement of the law would be fully satisfied for us, who no longer follow our sinful nature but instead follow the Spirit.
Galatians 5:16 (GNB) … let the Spirit direct your lives, and you will not satisfy the desires of the human nature.
Jesus showed that it is not only someone that physically kills another that is in danger of judgment and hell, but also someone who is angry and insults another, Mat. 5:21-22. Jesus also said that adultery is not just when a person commits the physical act but also when a man lusts after a woman in his heart, Matt. 5:27-28. After Jesus’ encounter with the rich young ruler, the rich young ruler went away sad because he could not do what Jesus was asking him to do and Jesus told His disciples that it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. The disciples immediately said, “who then can be saved?” And Jesus said to them “the things which are impossible with men are possible with God”, Luke 18:18-27. The righteousness and holiness that the Law of Moses could not achieve have been achieved by God by sending Jesus to die for us and sending His Spirit to live in us. In the New Testament, God puts His laws in our minds and rites them in our hearts, Heb. 8:10, Jer. 31:33. He does this by His Spirit that lives in us. God is now at work in us by His Spirit to enable us to know and do His will, Phil. 2:13.
Just as God declared to Zerubbabel, I declare unto you that it is not by power, nor by might, but by His Spirit, says the Lord. Every mountain before you shall become a plain. You shall be victorious in every area of your life and you will shout grace, grace in the end, Zech. 4:6-7. The Spirit of grace is at work in your life. You are led by the Spirit. The same Spirit that operates in Christ dwells and operates in you, Rom. 8:11 & 14. You can function like Christ and you can experience His very kind or results in every area of your life. Things that are impossible for men are now possible for you.
Prayer Focus:
I thank you Heavenly Father for sending Jesus to die for me and for sending your Spirit to live in me. I yield myself to your Spirit dear Lord.
