*The Blessings, Glory and Power of the Death of Jesus*
_Concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of the Messiah and the glories that would follow. It was revealed to them that they were not serving themselves but you, when they spoke of the things that have now been told you by those who have preached the gospel to you Even angels long to look into these things._
The terrible sufferings, along with the painful and shameful death of Christ, released so much of God's blessings, glory and power into our lives. When we understand these blessings, glory and power that the death of Christ has brought into our lives, we will celebrate the suffering and death of Christ much more than we celebrate the birth of Christ. When Jesus died on the cross of Calvary, you died with Him and your old life ended. Every evil that pertained to your old life also ended and passed away. Jesus took all your sins away, John 1:29. Now all your sins are forgiven and God has no record of sins against you.
Both Ephesians 1:7 and Colossians 1:14 assure us that we have redemption through His blood and the forgiveness of our sins. Romans 5:10 serves as confirmation that even when we were His enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of His Son. You are now free from both the punishment and the power of sin. By the death of Jesus, you were circumcised spiritually, Rom.2:29. In Colossions 2:11 (GNB) the Bible says,“|n union with Christ you were circumcised, not with the circumcision that is made by human beings. but with the circumcision mode by Christ, which consists of being freed from the power of this sinful self." Our totol healing and wholeness have also been paid for. As Jesus took those stripes upon His body, He took our infirmities and bore our sicknesses, Matt.8:17b. Isaiah 53:4 is a reminder of the fact that surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows. Now, we have a right to the total healing and cleansing power of God. God has freely done all this for us through Jesus because of His great love and kindness towards us. All we have to do now is activate and experience all of the freedom and victory that Christ has already provided for us. It is up to us to accept them as our reality, Rom. 6:11.
Prayer Focus: Thank God that you died with Christ, are forgiven and the power of sin is broken from your life. Thank Him for healing you also.
