GOD HAS GIVEN YOU HIS OWN RIGHTEOUSNESS
2Peter 1:1(NIV), 2Corinthians 5:21(AMP), Isaiah 54:17b (KJV)
2 Corinthians 5:21(AMP) "For our sake He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness]"
Isaiah 54:17b(KJV) "...........This [is] the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness [is] of me, saith the LORD"
By our faith in the wonderful things that Jesus has done for us, God has imputed His very own righteousness into us. Because of Jesus, right now, we are just as righteous as God is.
A great divine exchange took place on the cross. Jesus took our place and gave us His place. Right now, we can stand before God, man and the devil without any sense of guilt or inferiority. In the Living Bible, Hebrews 10:10 & 14 "Under this new plan we have been forgiven and made clean by Christ’s dying for us once and for all.*For by that one offering he made forever perfect in the sight of God all those whom he is making holy."
The Bible says "But now apart from the law the righteousness of God has been made known, to which the Law and the Prophets testify. This righteousness is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference between Jew and Gentile, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith. He did this to demonstrate his righteousness, because in his forbearance he had left the sins committed beforehand unpunished— he did it to demonstrate his righteousness at the present time, so as to be just and the one who justifies those who have faith in Jesus."
We received the nature of sin from Adam by being born physically, but right now we have received the nature of righteousness from Jesus by being born again. The righteousness of God is a gift that has been freely given to us. Our ability to understand and receive this great gift will affect the way we live and reign in God's life on this earth. (Romans 5:15-17)
PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, I thank you for your righteousness that you have given to me through my faith in Jesus. I live and reign in your divine life.
