| Strength for Times Like This |

Isaiah 60:2, Daniel 11:32, Philippians 3:10
For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the LORD shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. *And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits. *That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.

In the Good News Bible, 2Timothy 3:1 says “remember that there will be difficult times in the last days”. God does not want you and me to be ignorant of the difficult times that will come upon the earth. However, He does not want us to remain afraid of those times either. What He wants is for us to continually draw closer to Him so that we can know Him more and more. What will give us strength to overcome and still do exploits in such difficult times is our real knowledge of Him.
Now is the time for you and me to both be strong in our relationship with God and to know Him deeply and personally. This is the time for us to fellowship with God in prayer, worship and study His Word. It is also the time for us to keep our faith strong as we continue to grow in our relationship with God. Never allow the difficulties of the times you face to cause you to lose faith and give up on God. In the Good News Bible, 1Peter 5:8-9a says, “be alert, be on watch! Your enemy, the Devil, roams around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Be firm in your faith and resist him….”
Your faith will give you the strength to resist the devil and to keep doing exploits. Never assume that you know all there is to know about God. Like Apostle Paul in our third text above, continually desire to grow in your knowledge of God. As you remain strong in your relationship with God, you will remain strong in your faith and keep doing exploits for God.
PRAYER FOCUS: Tell God that you want to draw closer to Him and enlarge your knowledge of Him. Receive His grace to be strong in faith.
