The Glorious Revelation of Christ's Death

The Glorious Revelation of Christ's Death

SATURDAY
APR. 15

1 Corinthians 2:7-10 (NIV)
No, we speak of God's secret wisdom, a wisdom that has been hidden and that God destined for our glory before time began. None of the rulers of this age understood it, for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. However, as it is written: "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him"— but God has revealed it to us by his Spirit. The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God.

There is unlimited wisdom, power, blessing and glory in the revelation of the suffering, death, burial and resurrection of Christ. This is the foundation of our faith, of our redemption and of the abundance of God's grace in our lives. This revelation is so glorious that even the Old Testament prophets searched and prophesied eagerly about it. 1 Peter 1:10-11 (NIV) says, “concerning this salvation, the prophets, who spoke of the grace that was to come to you, searched intently and with the greatest care, trying to find out the time and circumstances to which the Spirit of Christ in them was pointing when he predicted the sufferings of Christ and the glories that would follow.” The key to our experiencing the abundant grace and glory that the sufferings of Christ have made available for us is our understanding of the revelations and wisdom of God contained in the death of Christ.

If the princes of this world were knowledgeable of these things, they would not have crucified Christ; but it is too late! This season, as you take some time to once again meditate on the death of Christ, I pray that you will receive great and fresh revelations that will propel your life, faith and walk with God to a new level of grace and glory. As Jesus appeared to His disciples and opened their understanding to how the scriptures collectively testify of Him and to why it was necessary for Him to die and be raised up again in Luke 24:13-27, and 45-47, I pray that you too will have a fresh encounter with Jesus this season which will activate the grace and glory of His death in your life.

PRAYER FOCUS: Ask God for a fresh encounter with Jesus and for great revelations of the death of Christ to fill your life.
