| Don't Give Up Because of Your Trials |

2 Corinthians 4:17
For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.

Often times, the purpose of the trials you face is to develop strength and godly character. A major part of the eternal weight of glory that our text above refers to is God's character and nature that develops in us as we patiently go thought trials. In the Living Bible, Romans 5:3-5 says, we can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us—they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady. Then, when that happens, we are able to hold our heads high no matter what happens and know that all is well, for we know how dearly God loves us, and we feel this warm love everywhere within us because God has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.
In the Good News Bible, James 1:2-4 says, my friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way, for you know that when your faith succeeds in facing such trials, the result is the ability to endure. Make sure that your endurance carries you all the way without failing, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. God is interested in your comfort; but He is more interested in your character. What you may be going through may not be comfortable but if there is any way it can develop your character it is working together for your good.
Don't give up. God will grant you His wisdom and as you learn and exercise patience, you will grow. Please remember that God does not use sickness to discipline us. He cannot use the sickness that Jesus took away and healed you of to teach you anything. If you are sick in your body, simply receive your healing in Jesus' Name.
PRAYER FOCUS: Receive the strength and wisdom of the Holy Spirit and keep growing in character through your trials.
