Proverbs 26:13-15, Proverbs 12:24
The slothful man saith, There is a lion in the way; a lion is in the streets. As the door turneth upon his hinges, so doth the slothful upon his bed. The slothful hideth his hand in his bosom; it grieveth him to bring it again to his mouth. *The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

The reason some people are not making progress in their lives as they should is because they are slothful. Slothful people are usually unwilling to do things that will benefit them in the long run. They are full of excuses for why they shouldn't do what they know they are supposed to. Like a door turning on its hinges, slothful people keep turning comfortably on their beds and in one position. They want to remain in their comfort zone and not take action to grow and make progress. They fold their hands and do nothing when they are supposed to be actively engaging in something fruitful and productive and taking care of issues that need to be taken care of.
Romans 12:11 implores us to not be slothful in business, but be fervent in spirit, serving the Lord. God hates slothfulness and He does not want you to be slothful in anything. Beloved, He wants you to be diligent and fervent in every area of your life. Like the ant, do not wait for anyone to tell you to think ahead and take necessary action for your progress, Prov.6:5-11. Instead of giving excuses, diligent people always find a way to ensure that they do what needs to be done. That is why they grow and make progress. They do not wait for anything on the outside to motivate them; they are motivated from the inside. In Christ, you have what it takes to motivate yourself to consistently do what you are supposed to do, Phil.4:13. Do not deprive yourself of the promotion and increase in influence that God has in store for you. Today, wake up and be diligent in every area of your life.
FAITH DECLARATION: By the strength of Christ, I am fervent and diligent in every area of my life.
