Place Your Hope in God’s Unfailing Love
Psalm 147:7-8a & 10-12 (NLT), Psalm 130:7 (NLT) Sing out your thanks to the LORD; sing praises to our God with a harp. He covers the heavens with clouds, provides rain for the earth, … *He takes no pleasure in the strength of a horse or in human might. No, the LORD’s delight is in those who fear him, those who put their hope in his unfailing love. Glorify the LORD, O Jerusalem! Praise your God, O Zion! *O Israel, hope in the LORD; for with the LORD there is unfailing love. His redemption overflows.
Unlike Zechariah who was troubled by the sight of Angel Gabriel (Luke 1:12), Mary was instead troubled by the words that Angel Gabriel utteredin greeting her. Angel Gabriel told her, “peace be with you! The Lord is with you and the Lord has greatly blessed you!” When he saw that Mary was troubled at his words, he assured her by adding, “don’t be afraid, Mary; God has been gracious to you.” The truth is that even those words were an understatement for what Mary was about to experience. However, they were the best words that could have been used in that moment. Can you imagine the things that must have been going through Mary’s mind as Angel Gabriel began to unveil the full plan of what was about to happen through her? Mary must have previously heard wonderful things about the Saviour of the world that was to come, but until that moment, she had no idea that she was chosen by God to be the vessel through which this Christ would come to the earth.
In the same way, I believe that God is reassuring you today; do not be amazed when you are informed of His glorious words which assure you of who you are in Christ and of the things that will happen both in and through your life because of Christ that is in you. Psalms 87:3 says, “glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God!” Eyes have not seen, ears have not heard and minds have not imagined the kind of things that God has in store for you in Christ, 1Cor.2:9. There are great things that you have only previously heard about that the Spirit of God is overshadowing you with the power of God to experience and manifest to this generation. Don’t despise God’s Word. Don’t limit Him. Yield yourself to Him.
PRAYER: I thank You, Lord, for the great things that You have chosen for me to experience and manifest in Christ. I release myself to Your Spirit.
