There Is a Joy Set Before You

There Is a Joy Set Before You

Hebrews 12:2, Matthew 25:21
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. *His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy Lord.

Author PhotoAfter Jesus prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane, God gave Him strength to go through His suffering and the agony of the cross by filling His heart with the joy of our redemption. God filled His heart with the victory of our salvation and all of His glory and power that would be restored to our lives. When the master, in our second text above, was asking his servants to enter into his joy, he was asking them to enter into the great blessings and rewards that he had for them. He had given them money to trade with; not to punish them, but because he wanted to promote them and increase their influence. It was his joy to see them become rulers over many things. Beloved, our God and Father has an even greater joy in store for us. He has not called us to seek Him in vain, Isa.45:19. Our labour in Him is not in vain, 1Cor.15:58. There is a great joy that God has set before us.

May God fill your heart right now with the joy that He has planned and set before you in all areas of your life. This joy will cause you to indeed count it all joy, no matter what you will go through, James 1:2. You will be assured that your light affliction is for a moment and that it is working for you an exceeding and eternal weight of glory, 2Cor.4:17. You will be assured that the sufferings of this present time cannot be compared to the glory of the future, Rom.8:18. Like Apostle Paul, you will glory or rejoice in tribulations, Rom.5:3. You will have longsuffering with joyfulness, Col.1:11. You will be strong and victorious in whatever situation you may be going through because you know that all things are working together for your good, Rom.8:28.

PRAYER:
Heavenly Father, I thank You for the great joy that You have planned and set before me. Fill my heart with more of this joy today!
