*Stay with the Word of God*
_2 Peter 1:19-21 (NLT)_
_Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts. ..
no prophecy in Scripture ever came from the prophet's own understanding, or from human initiative. No, those prophets were moved by the Holy Spirit, and they spoke from God.__Because of that experience, we have even greater confidence in the message proclaimed by the prophets. You must pay close attention to what they wrote, for their words are like a lamp shining in a dark place—until the Day dawns, and Christ the Morning Star shines in your hearts. ..
Apostle Peter reveals above that the experience he had with Jesus on the mount of transfiguration increased his confidence in the glorious power of the scriptures. He declared that the scriptures are not man's making but are divinely inspired and orchestrated by God through His Spirit. If we keep paying close attention to scriptures, something will happen both on our inside (Christ the Morning Star will shine in our hearts) and on our outside (the Day will dawn). Sometimes, we start with the word of God but we don't stay with it. We let go of it and lose sight of it probably because we do not immediately see the sort of results we expect. Romans 15:4 (NLT) declares that such things were written in the Scriptures long ago to teach us. And the Scriptures give us hope and encouragement as we wait patiently for God's promises to be fulfilled.
Today, God's grace to hold on to His word until the end is upon you. Don't give up on the word of God. As you stay connected to the word of God, you will receive deeper insight and understanding. As you pray with God's word, you will activate God's power and will to manifest that word on earth as it is in Heaven. When we refuse to let the word of God out of our sight and hearts, it will produce life and health in every area of our lives, Prov.4:20-22. The path of the just is as a shining light that shines brighter and brighter unto a perfect day, Prov.4:18. It is God's word that lightens our feet and our path, Psa. 119:105. Keep meditating on God's word, keep praying, declaring and acting on God's word. Glorious experiences await you in life and in God.
PRAYER:
Dear Lord, I receive the strength of your Spirit to keep my eyes and heart continually fixated on your word.
Dear Lord, I receive the strength of your Spirit to keep my eyes and heart continually fixated on your word.
