Isaiah 28:11-12, 1Corinthians 14:2&4a
For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear. *For he that speaketh in an unknown tongue speaketh not unto men, but unto God: for no man understandeth him; howbeit in the spirit he speaketh mysteries. *He that speaketh in an unknown tongue edifieth himself.

Praying in tongues is one powerful way that God has provided for us to remain divinely refreshed and empowered. When God fills us with His Spirit, He also freely gives us the ability to pray in the Spirit by speaking in other tongues. In Acts 2:4, the Bible says, “and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance,” Praying in tongues was one of Apostle Paul's major secrets. In 1Corinthians 14:18, he said, “I thank my God, I speak with tongues more than ye all.” In 1Corinthians 14:14-15 Apostle Paul added, “for if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
