The Rain and Dew of Heaven (4)

The Rain and Dew of Heaven (4)

SATURDAY
JUNE10

2Corinthiasn 10:12 (NIV), Philippians 3:14, Ephesians 4:15 (GNB)
Be glad then, you children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord, your God; for He gives you the former or early rain in just measure and in righteousness, and He causes to come down for you the rain, the former rain and the latter rain, as before. *And I will restore or replace for you the years that the locust has eaten…*Then shall we know, if we follow on to know the LORD…and he shall come unto us as the rain, as the latter and former rain unto the earth.

The rain that falls at the beginning of a planting season is generally known as the former rain, while the rain that causes plants to grow and prepares them for harvest is known as the latter rain. Former rain can refer to the grace that God gives us to start things, while latter rain can refer to the grace that God gives us to sustain and finish things.

When God said in our first text above that He would give His people the former rain and the latter rain as before, He was referring to restoring the inspiration and grace that they previously received before they abandoned their commitment to Him. It was a promise that was to follow their repentance and turning back to God. If you have lost the flow, inspiration and grace that you used to have in God because you turned away from Him, God is restoring you today. By His Spirit and His Word, you are empowered to repent, turn back and reconnect with God so that God can amazingly restore your life. The time and fruitfulness that you may have lost because of your turning away from God will be restored to you.

God will combine the inspiration and grace that you previously experienced with the fresh inspiration and grace you ought to be receiving now. Even the inspiration and grace He gave to saints of old and others who have gone on before us will be coupled with the fresh inspiration and grace He has for us now.

PRAYER FOCUS: Receive divine restoration of God's inspiration and grace and receive God's grace to consistently start and finish your projects.
