*Walking in the Light Of our Sonship*

_1 John 3:1, Ephesians 1:4-6 (NKJV)_
_Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should called the sons of God: ...the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.

*... He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus ... to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved._

By our faith in Jesus, we have become sons or offsprings of God just like Jesus. We are born of God and our lives no longer emanate from our flesh and blood but from the life of God in us, John 1:12-13. Just as the world did not know or understand Jesus when He was on the earth, they also do not understand us. They do not know who we really are and what it means to be sons of God. We need God's help to understand what our sonship in Him means. God wants us to know that we are sons to Him just like Jesus is. We are heirs of God and joint heir with Christ, Rom.8:17.

We have been accepted in the Beloved. Because we are in Christ, God loves us, accepts us and relates with us just as He loves, accepts and relates with Jesus. In John 17:23, Jesus said the Father loves us just as the Father loves Him. Talking about what will happen after He dies for us, in the Amplified Bible, John 16:26-27 Jesus said, At that time you will ask (pray) in My Name; and I am not saying that I will ask the Father on your behalf [for it will be unnecessary]. For the Father Himself [tenderly] loves you because you have loved Me and have believed that I came out from the Father. We need to receive this great love and sonship that the Father has called us into. We need to trust, love and relate with the Father just as Jesus does. We need to expect the same kind of answers and results that Jesus expects. We need to allow the Holy Spirit to continue strengthening our conviction that we are children of God, Rom.8:16.
