Text: Revelation 19:11-16

19:11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.

19:12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself.

19:13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

19:14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean.

19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

19:16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Message
It was mid-afternoon in January 2002. Many had come back from Sunday service and were relaxing at home when all of a sudden, there came deafening sounds of explosions.

Hell was let loose as pandemonium ensued everywhere. Some women left their children while fleeing for safety. Children, men, women, everyone was running.

As the noise of the explosions intensified, many thought that “doomsday” had finally arrived. Many lives were lost.

Later it was discovered that some “expired bombs” were responsible as they exploded in a military cantonment in Lagos, Nigeria.

There will be more commotion and fear among men when the great tribulation dawns on earth after the rapture.

God's forbearance will ultimately end one day and will usher in the inevitable judgment against a world that has been at daggers-drawn with its Maker.

Since the Fall, man has lived in rebellion against the revealed will of God.

Though He has given His Son to make salvation available to all, men continue to shun God's invitation.

The multiplicity of false prophets and religions has not helped matters as many have wandered away from the light and truth.

But God's faithful servants still keep on preaching the good news. Those who, like Felix, are waiting for a ‘convenient season’ will regret eventually if they fail to get saved.

God will “execute judgment upon all, and to convince all that are ungodly among them of all their ungodly deeds which they have ungodly committed, and of all their hard speeches which ungodly sinners have spoken against him” (Jude 15).

This is the time to seek God and escape His judgment. This is the time to ask for His mercy and make sure all is well between us and God.

God does not delight in judgment but in repentance.

*MEDITATION*

Spiritual warfare unveiled

1. The timing of the warfare

This is the final phase of the three and half years of the battle of Armageddon that will precede the second visible and bodily return of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2. The identity of the Captain

The heavenly host will be led by Jesus Christ personally.

*Question:* What are the other names of Jesus which could be used to identify Him in vv11,12,13,15,16? Check Revelation 3:7, John 14:6, John 5:22, Revelation 5:14, John 1:1, Revelation 20:6.

3. The nature of the warfare

a. How spiritual war is fought is how heavenly host fights. Learn from them.

b. The horses are spirit horses that cannot be injured by any known human weapons including machine guns or nuclear weapons of the AntiChrist. For now, no natural human eyes can see them except he whose eyes God opened. But they are real 2 Kings 6:15-17.

*Praise God because for His invincibility🙏

c. The heavenly warriors are not carrying any physical weapon, so it will not be a physical combat. So is the spiritual battle.

d. The dressing is made with "fine linen, white and clean" which shows that the winning heavenly host will be clothed with righteousness v14. Nobody fights with Christ and win without righteousness in the heart and conduct. The army of the Antichrist and demons would not be able to roughen the clean garments of God's host.

*Lord of host, remove every unrighteousness that is attracting demons and defeats from my life🙏

*Lord of heaven, ever keep me from defiling my garments of righteousness🙏

e. The greatest weapon the Captain and His host will use to defeat the enemy is the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God v15, Ephesians 6:17.

*God, ever give me right word of God for every battle of my life🙏

f. In order to fight and win your spiritual battle, you must use the word of God. Know the verses and the promises that suit your situations, use it to claim your blessings, decree into existence its promises and bring into subjection and destruction all the antics of the devil. He who is "Faithful and True" to His word will give you the victory.

4. Evidence of victory-Rulership

Jesus, like a shepherd, will rule the nations with Shepherd's rod, in this case, made with an iron so that He is irresistible v15.

*Lord, let the prevailing power of the Holy Spirit be released to all at the retreat so that we will all fight, win and rule over all our challenges🙏
