Diligence and Increase
Proverbs 22:29, Proverbs 12:24 (NIV), Luke 19:16-17 (NKJV)
Seest thou a man diligent in his business? He shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men. *Diligent hands will rule, but laziness ends in slave labor. *Then came the first, saying, 'Master, your mina has earned ten minas.' And he said to him, 'Well done, good servant; because you were faithful in a very little, have authority over ten cities.'

One way to prepare yourself for the great increase God is bringing into your life is to stretch yourself in your commitment to diligence. Diligence is an attribute of faithfulness, which is a dimension of the fruit of the Spirit (Gal.5:22). The nature of God in us causes us to demonstrate absolute loyalty and unwavering commitment to God and to people that we serve or are connected to. It causes us to place our whole being into whatever we are doing and to give it our best, regardless of whether we are applauded or not. Diligence is about being thorough, careful, meticulous and persistent in all that you do. It is about giving your best focus and commitment to the labour of your hands.
God Himself greatly loves, expects and rewards all manner of diligence in our lives, beginning from the way we seek Him, Heb.11:6.
He wants us to guard our hearts with all diligence (Prov.4:23) and to be diligent in all that our hands find to do. As a leader, God expects you to carry out your responsibilities with diligence (Rom.12:8). Know and cater for the state of your flocks diligently, Prov.27:23. Those who are diligent are watchful and watchfulness prevents being negatively taken unaware, Matt.24:43. Diligent people do not fear accountability. Times of accountability represent times of honour and promotion for them. Like we see in our last text above, your diligence in little things can attract
increase in influence in ways you may never have imagined. Who would have thought that by simply being faithful with a little money, that servant would have been promoted and given ten cities to preside over? Do not be weary in being diligent. Great increase is coming into your life.

PRAYER: I thank You, Heavenly Father, for the grace that You have given me to be faithful and diligent in every area of my life.
