The Evidence of Things Not Seen 2
1Peter 1:8-9 (NIV), 2Corinthians 4:18 (NIV)
Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. *So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
What are you fixing your hope and attention on and what are you allowing to influence your steps and actions? The word of God is more real than anything that you can see in the physical realm. Anything you can see in the physical that is not in line with God's will for your life is temporal. It will ultimately manifest into God's will for your life as you believe and hold unto His word concerning you. Hebrews 11:7a (NKJV) says, “by faith Noah, being divinely warned of things not yet seen, moved with godly fear, prepared an ark for the saving of his household…” Noah moved (took action) in response to God's word, even though the flood that he had been informed of had not previously happened. Even though He was not yet seeing what God was saying to Him, He believed God's Word more than what He was seeing in the physical. God's word was His reality.
Beyond just having our needs met, accepting God's reality for our lives affects the way we live our lives. Our first text above reveals that the end result of our faith is the salvation of our souls. A transformation takes place in our souls as we continue to fix our eyes on God's word (James 1:21) and His reality for our lives. When our hope is fixed on God's word and His promises, we will live differently. For example, 1John 3:1-3 assures us of our current sonship and of our hope that we are physically going to be like Him as we see Him when He returns. This produces a desire in us to purify ourselves. Joyfully fix your hope on God's reality for you.
PRAYER: Your word is my reality, O Lord. I receive Your grace to move and live my life based on Your word and promises for me.
