Looking Unto Jesus
Hebrews 12:2a (GNB), 2Corinthians 3:18 (AMP)
Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end…* And all of us, as with unveiled face, [because we] continued to behold [in the Word of God] as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are constantly being transfigured into His very own image in ever increasing splendor and from one degree of glory to another; [for this comes] from the Lord [Who is] the Spirit.

Where you fix your eyes is very important if you are going to live the super abundant life that God has provided as a result of the finished work of Christ. Do you remember how Peter was able to defy gravity and walk on water while he had his eyes fixed on Jesus? As we also fix our eyes on Jesus and all He has done for us, we will walk in God's fullness and do the impossible. In John 5:39-40 (NKJV), Jesus said, “you search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me. But you are not willing to come to Me that you may have life.” The only way we will gain life from the scriptures is to see how they point us to who Jesus is and to what He has done for us. In Luke 24:27, Jesus revealed to two of the disciples who were with Him on their way to Emmaus, how all the scriptures from Moses and all the prophets pointed to Him.
On the mount of transfiguration, God the Father boldly declared, “this is my beloved Son with whom I am well pleased, hear Him, Matt.17:5. He wanted all their attention to be on Jesus, not on Moses or Elijah or anyone or anything else. God does not even want us to look at ourselves for we are nothing without Him and we are all things (complete) in Him, Col.2:10. In Galatians 2:20, Apostle Paul said it was no longer him living but Christ that was living in him. As we fix our eyes on Jesus, not only will we have faith to be strong and victorious and have our needs met, we will also be transformed into His image from glory to glory by the Spirit of God.
PRAYER: Dear Father, I ask that by Your Spirit, You help me to always fix my eyes on Christ and all that He has done for me.
