The Grace to Continually Walk in Love
2 Corinthians 5:14-16a (NIV), 1 John 3:16 (NLT)
For Christ's love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again. So from now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view...*We know what real love is because Jesus gave up his life for us. So we also ought to give up our lives for our brothers and sisters.

--------------------------------------------------------------
The only way we can remain consistent in reflecting God's love unto others is to keep our eyes focused on God's great love for us, no matter how much we are tempted to look elsewhere. We must walk by faith in God's great love, not by our physical view or by the observations of man's love, reactions and responses to us. Nothing reveals to us how much God loves us as much as the cross (the sufferings and death of Christ). This revelation of God's great love for us, as revealed by Christ's sacrificial death for our redemption, needs to be very deep and real to us. We must personalize it by continually meditating on it and relying on the Holy Spirit to guide us deeper and deeper into this truth, Eph.3:16-19.
Jesus is not only the author and finisher of our faith, He is also the author and finisher of our love. In the same way we need to continually look unto Jesus to remain strong in faith and to run our race (Heb.12:2), we must also look unto Him to remain strong in love and to let our light shine so that men will see our good works and glorify our Father in Heaven. Let the love of Christ continue to compel you. Let it cause you to realize how special you are to God so that you are motivated to treat people as special as they are to God. Let your attitude towards others be based on God's attitude towards you. Keep your eyes on God's love and the revelation of the suffering and death of Christ for you.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, by the help of Your Spirit, may the revelation of Your great love for me always remain fresh in my heart.
