It is Fulfilled in Christ!
Luke 4:17-21
And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; .. to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, ... To preach the acceptable year of the Lord. And he closed the book, .. And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.

All those listening to Jesus in the synagogue were knowledgeable of the scripture in our text above in which Jesus refers to the Messiah. What they did not realize, however, was that the Messiah Himself was standing before them. So although Jesus read the scripture as they had previously read and heard it, His interpretation, to their surprise, was different. Jesus boldly declared: “this is no more a prophecy. It is now a reality because I am here.” When Jesus told Martha that her brother would rise again, she similarly thought He was referring to a prophecy concerning the last days. But Jesus boldly declared to her, “I am the resurrection and the life" (John 11:23-25) and in that instance, Lazarus was raised from the dead.
All the fullness of God dwells in Christ (Col.2:9) and Christ is the express image of God's person (Heb.1:3). Christ gives us access to all of God's fullness. In the Old Testament, God revealed only some dimensions of Himself to different people at different times, but in Christ, we have all of God at the same time. When we mention the name of Jesus, we are simultaneously referencing all the names of God. It is not only the law that Jesus came to fulfill for us (Matt.5:17); He also came to fulfill all of God's promises for us. 2Corinthians 1:20 says, “for all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.” All of God's promises are fulfilled in Christ and you are in Christ! So by your faith in Christ, all of God's promises are already your reality in the Spirit and they shall also manifest in the physical.
PRAYER FOCUS: Declare God's word and promises to yourself right now and declare that because of Christ, it is already your reality.
