Go And Sin No More
JOHN 8:1-11
Key verse
"When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go and sin no more" (John 8:10, 11)

It is easier to assume a moral high ground and accuse others of offenses, than to account for your grievous moral falling. You enthusiastically point out the mote that is in thine brother's eye, but considereth not the beam that is in thine own eyes". According to Jesus, this is the height of hypocrisy.
The mob that brought the woman caught in adultery was blinded to this reality. They were only consumed by their bigoted sense of justice, misplaced attempt to entrap the Lord Jesus Christ. The rudely interrupted His teaching and gleefully announced that they caught the woman in the very act of adultery. Their wrapped sense of justice was on display as they sought to prosecute the woman without arraigning her male partner. They regarded the Law of Moses and rightfully pointed out that the sentence was death by stoning. 'What do you say?' they questioned Jesus. They hoped that he will contradict the law, thereby giving them reasons to accuse them of an offense. For a while, Jesus ignored them, and continued to draw a sketch on the sand. He eventually looked up and said with firm authority that whomsoever was without sin should cast the first stone at the woman. Their consciences being convicted, they all slipped away one by one, leaving her accusers. She couldn't of course find any of them. Jesus delivered His verdict to her: "go and sin no more".
Jesus is in essence saying that no matter how grievous your sins are, having encountered the Saviour, he will forgive and cleanse you if you confess and forsake them all, and ask him for pardon. Receive Jesus as your Lord and Master, and resolve to live righteously henceforth.
Thought for the day: To continue in sin is to heap foolishness upon rebellion.
