Don't Despise the Covenant

 Don't Despise the Covenant

THURSDAY
MAY. 11

Daniel 11:32 (AMP), Hebrews 2:3-4 (NIV)
And such as violate the covenant he shall pervert and seduce with flatteries, but the people who know their God shall prove themselves strong and shall stand firm and do exploits [for God]. *How shall we escape if we ignore such a great salvation? This salvation, was first announced by the Lord, … confirmed to us by those who heard him. God also testified to it by signs, wonders and various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit distributed according to his will.

One of the devil's major strategies in these last days is to distract and weaken believers from taking their relationship with God seriously. He is doing this because He realizes the great power that is commanded by those who take their covenant relationship with God very seriously. Through Jesus, God has brought us into a covenant relationship with Himself because He wants to manifest His great power and glory through our lives. We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood and a holy nation, called out of darkness into God's marvelous light to show forth God's wonderful deeds and virtues, 1Pet.2:9 (AMP).

Our covenant is much more powerful and glorious than the covenant of the Old Testament, 2Cor.3:6-11. Hebrews 8:6 describes our covenant as a better covenant established upon better promises. Our covenant was not established with the blood of bulls and goats but by the blood of Jesus Christ Himself, Heb.9:11-12.

The truth is that you make time for what is important to you. The value you place on your covenant relationship with God will determine the level of commitment to it and the amount of God's divine strength, power and glory that will be manifested in your life. The veil has been removed and we now have unlimited access to God's presence. We have God's Word and His Spirit available to us. As such, there is no excuse not to know God and to be strong in our relationship with Him.
PRAYER FOCUS: Receive God's grace to grow stronger and deeper in your covenant relationship with Him through Christ.
