1Chronicles 29:1-3 (GNB)
King David announced …. The work to be done is tremendous, because this is not a palace for people but a temple for the LORD God. I have made every effort to prepare materials for the Temple-gold, silver, bronze, iron, timber, precious stones and gems, stones for mosaics, and quantities of marble. Over and above all this that I have provided, I have given silver and gold from my personal property because of my love for God's Temple.

In the same way that we cannot say we love people if we are unwilling to give of what we have to meet their needs, we cannot say that we love God if we are unwilling to give towards the advancement of His work and His kingdom on this earth. In Matthew 6:21 (NIV), Jesus made it clear that where our treasure is, there our hearts will be. One way that we evidence a heart for God is our willingness to give of our personal resources unto Him. You must view all the giving that you do in God's house and for God's work as giving unto God Himself, because of your love for Him.
See your giving unto God as a way of honouring Him by giving your best. In the Good News Bible, Proverbs 3:9 says, honor the LORD by making him an offering from the best of all that your land produces. Hebrews 7:8 (NKJV) says, “Here mortal men receive tithes, but there he receives them, of whom it is witnessed that he lives.”
Because of Abraham's love for God, he was willing to offer up Isaac. Because of David's love for God, he gave his treasures abundantly towards the building of God's temple. Our text above reveals that he saw it as an offering unto God and not unto men. Do not wait to be forced before you give unto God. God loves a cheerful giver. If you want to be a giver towards God's work, He will abundantly give you the grace and resources to be one, 2Cor.9:7-8. He will also direct you on your giving. Abundantly support the preaching and the enlargement of the gospel of Christ. Give to God's work in such a way that people will bless God because of you.
FAITH DECLARATION: My love for God causes me to give abundantly towards the advancement of His work and kingdom on earth.
