| Fruits of Your Love for God |

1John 4:19, 1 John 5:3 (NIV & AMP)
We love him, because he first loved us. *This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome. *For the [true] love of God is this: that we do His commands [keep His ordinances and are mindful of His precepts and teaching]. And these orders of His are not irksome (burdensome, oppressive, or grievous).

Just as faith without works is dead, love without fruit is also dead. One primary fruit that is produced as a result of your love for God is the desire to obey and please Him. It is one of the ways that we evidence our love for God. We must be unafraid and unwavering in our willingness to obey God because we have been empowered to do all that God has commanded by our new nature in Christ. God is also at work in us by His Spirit, to make us willing and able to do His will, Phil.2:13. All that is required is a decision to obey God because we love Him and to co-operate with His Spirit that is on the inside of us. By the Word and by the Spirit of God, we have the ability to know the mind and the will of God.
Your love for God will make you a doer of God's Word and not a hearer of God's Word alone, which is equivalent to deceiving yourself, James 1:22. There are so many blessings attached to being obedient to God and being doers of His Word. In Isaiah 1:19, the Bible says that if you are willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land. In John 14:21 (AMP), Jesus said, “the person who has My commands and keeps them is the one who [really] loves Me; and whoever [really] loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I [too] will love him and will show (reveal, manifest) Myself to him. [I will let Myself be clearly seen by him and make Myself real to him.]” God will manifest Himself to you in a special way, your faith will grow and be strengthened and your new nature in Christ would grow and mature. You will know God more, you will be strong and you will do exploits.
PRAYER FOCUS: Heavenly Father, I desire to obey and please you today. Strengthen me by your Spirit to keep obeying and pleasing you.
