Romans 4:19-22 (NLT) And Abraham's faith did not weaken, even though, at about 100 years of age, he figured his body was as good as deadand so was Sarah's womb. Abraham never wavered in believing God's promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God. He was fully convinced that God is able to do whatever he promises. And because of Abraham's faith, God counted him as righteous.
Child of God, one thing that will cause your faith to grow is your ability to see the very things that are endeavouring to weaken your faith as opportunities for your faith to be stretched and made stronger. To do this, you need to maintain a God perspective of your life and of everything. What God is saying to you and about you must become more real to you than what you physically see, feel or hear around you. Every time your faith is tested, it is because God wants to bring you into a new level in your walk with him. The Living Bible translation describes Abraham's experience in Genesis 22:1 as God testing Abraham's faith and obedience. Verse 22 declares:" the Angel said, "for I know that God is first in your life-you have not withheld even your beloved son from me."
It was a test to strengthen Abraham's faith and he passed it. It was something he had never done or experienced before, but he stretched his faith and he did what God instructed him to do. He was fully submitted to God. He did not obey or please God only when the instructions were easy or pleasing to him. He believed, obeyed and followed God at all times and in all ways. God was indeed first in his life. God was more real and important to him than everything else; even his desires were subject to God's desires. What will you do when you face challenges or a test that you have not faced before? How will you see them and respond to them? Whose perspective and reality will you walk by? The grace to grow in faith this year is upon you.
FAITH DECLARATION: My faith in God is growing stronger. Every challenge I face is an opportunity for me to stretch and grow my faith. This year I am strong in faith. I live and walk by God's reality.
