*The Only Way to Go and Sin No More*
_John 8:10-12_
_When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do l condemn thee: go, and sin no more. Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life._
After Jesus showed the mercy of God to the woman that was caught in adultery, He told her to go and sin no more. And in the statement He made right after that, He gave us the exact way that we can go and sin no more. On her own, she could have never been able to overcome and live above sin just like none of us can. If we could, then Jesus would not have needed to come down to suffer and die for us. But because of what Jesus has done for us we have victory over sin and we can walk in the fullness of God's will and plan for our lives. It is as we receive the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness that Jesus has made available to us that we will dominate over sin and the consequences of the fall of man by the Life of God, Rom.5:17.
The only way to go and sin no more is to follow Jesus. Just like He called His disciples, Jesus has called us to follow Him. He wants us to follow Him with all our hearts. He wants us to follow Him with a genuine desire to know Him and be like Him. He wants us to fellowship with Him. He wants us to have faith in Him. He wants us to yield to the leading of His Spirit in us. Jesus wants us to abide in Him and to let His word abide in us, John 15:7. He wants us to allow the revelation of all He has done for us to dwell in us richly, Col. 3:16. In our text above, Jesus said whoever follows Him will not walk in darkness. When we are genuinely fellowshiping with Jesus, we will not walk in darkness. Rather, we will walk in the light as He is in the light and His blood will continually cleanse us from all sin, 1 John 1:6-7. We become more like Him continually, 2Car. 3:18.
Prayer:
Lord Jesus, I thank you for the mercy and grace you have shown me. I desire to follow you more closely and intimately.
