So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom (Psalm 90:12).

In the Bible, God shows us it’s important to plan. If you read in Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy, you’d see that God numbered days; He gave numbers to certain days.

For example, in Numbers 1:1, God fixed “...the first day of the second month, in the second year...” while instructing the children of Israel on their departure from Egypt. Having plans for special days was normal with God. In our opening verse, Moses wanted God to teach us how to do it; so he said, “...teach us to NUMBER our days….” He didn’t say, “Teach us to count our days.” The word “number” there is an accounting word. It means that you’re accounting for the days; you’re scheduling or organizing your days. For example, you say, “On the 25th of January, 2020, I’m going to do such and such.” That’s planning or ...
