*Undrstanding the Abundant Life that We now Have*
_John 10:10 (GNB), John 17:3 (GNB), John 14:6, John 1:18, John 14:9 (GNB)_
_I have come in order that you might have life - life in all its fullness. *And eternal life means to know you, the only true God, and to know Jesus Christ, whom you sent. *Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. *No one has ever seen God. The only Son, who is the same as God and is at the Father's side, he has made him known. Whoever has seen me has seen the Father..._
The phrase 'eternal life' in John 3:16, is 'Zoe' and it means the God-kind of life. Eternal life is not just a life that exists forever. It is a life that has the very nature, essence and fullness of God right now. Jesus has restored us back to the image and glory of God that Adam fell from. We have been raised up unto glory, Heb. 2:10. We are now one with Christ, 1 John 4:17. His reality is now our reality. Whatever is true of Christ is true about us and whatever is not true about Christ is not true about us. We now have a relationship with God.
Eternal life is about knowing God through Jesus Christ. When the Bible talks about knowing God, it is not referring to having a head knowledge or mental ascent or awareness of God. It is referring to an intimate and tangible experience of God through faith in Jesus Christ. Genesis 4:1 says, and Adam knew Eve his wife; and she conceived, and bare Cain, and said, I have gotten a man from the LORD. The word 'know' was used to describe the intimate physical experience that Adam had with his wife Eve that led to the birth of a child. That is how because we have a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ, God infuses us more and more with His life and we continually grow and manifest more of Him. Right now, we can love like God, we can overcome sin, sickness, poverty, the devil and all evil just like God. We can prosper, manifest faith and power just like God. We can touch and bless the lives of others just like God. Hallelujah!
Prayer Focus: Rejoice and thank God for His abundant life that you now have because of Christ. Receive grace to keep growing in this life.
