*Don't Despise Jesus - Your Manna*

_Numbers 21:5-6 (NLT)_
_and they began to speak against God and Moses. "Why have you brought us out of Egypt to die here in the wilderness?" they complained. "There is nothing to eat here and nothing to drink. And we hate this horrible manna!" So the LORD sent poisonous snakes among the people, and many were bitten and died._

The Israelites soon became over familiar with the manna that they once treasured and began to desire something more. By despising God's gracious and abundant provision for them, they broke the hedge and serpents bit them, Eccl.10:8. It is only in Christ that you are safe, blessed and victorious over every temptation and attack of the devil. The devil will do everything to cause you to become over familiar and to begin to despise and look down upon Jesus and all the wonderful things that God has done for you in Him. But you must not be deceived by this trick of his. Apostle Paul said reminded us that although some seek for wisdom and others for power, Christ is the wisdom and the power of God, 1Cor.1:22-24. The Bible says, “see to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ. For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have been given fullness in Christ, who is the head over every power and authority, Col.2:8-10 (NIV). Jesus is enough for you and you have everything you need in Him!
When the Israelites asked Moses to pray unto God for their deliverance from the snakes, God told Moses to make a bronze serpent and place it on a pole. Everyone who looked at that bronze serpent lifted up before them would be healed, Numb. 21:7-9. Even that bronze serpent was a symbol and shadow of Jesus, John 3:14. As they received healing by looking at the lifeless serpent on that pole, you also will receive God's power as you see your situation lifeless and taken care of by Jesus on the cross of Calvary.
PRAYER:
I lift my eyes to You, Lord Jesus, for every grace I need is in You. I receive Your grace right now. Your grace is sufficient for me.
