Leading in Faith

Leading in Faith

1 Samuel 30:6-8 (NIV)
David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter..because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God. .. David said to the priest, .. "Bring me the ephod." Abiathar brought it to him, and David inquired of the Lord, "Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?" "Pursue them," he answered. "You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue."

Author PhotoAs a leader, even when you go through the same things that those you lead do, there is an expectation that you will respond better than they did. David was also suffering the pain that his men were suffering, but his men were indirectly blaming him and planning to stone him. This resulted in additional pain and a burden on David. Our text above reveals that as a result, David was greatly distressed. Are you greatly distressed as a leader? I declare that God is granting you the same grace that He granted unto David. The grace to be strong and calm under extreme pressure and distress is upon you in Jesus' name. As David did not allow the great stress he was under to push him into making make erroneous and rash decisions, you also will not make erroneous decisions because of the great pressure you may be under.

None of David's men or even the priests considered seeking God for this seemingly impossible situation. They had either completely forgotten about God or had given up any hope that He could do anything about the situation. When all human, medical, economic, political, technological and scientific solutions seem to fail or there is no apparent solution in sight, know that God will never fail. He is a very present help in time of need. All things are possible with God. He makes a way where there seems to be no way. He will do a new thing in your life right now. He will make a way in the wilderness and create 'rivers' in the desert, Isa.43:19. Be strong in faith as a leader. Put God first and always be conscious that He is with you, strengthening, directing and granting you His favour.

PRAYER:
I receive Your abundant grace and strength right now, Lord. Direct me, strengthen me and show me Your favour in Jesus' Name.
