*Maintaining a Christ's Consciousness*
_Romans 8:1-3 (NKJV)_
_There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, on account of sin: He condemned sin in the flesh._

Galatians 5:16 shows us that the way to avoid fulfilling the lusts of the flesh is by walking in the Spirit. Walking in the Spirit comes first and must be our focus and priority for us to be victorious over the lusts and limitations of the flesh. Some believers are struggling in their own ability to overcome the lusts of the flesh but they are not walking in the Spirit. This is why they are not making any progress spiritually but feel more and more condemned and frustrated. It is because we cannot overcome the lusts of the flesh with our own human abilities that Jesus had to sacrifice Himself for us to be saved and to live in Him.
A major key to walking in the Spirit is having no confidence in our flesh or human abilities because we died with Christ on the cross. One thing so many believers fail to realize is that faith or confidence in our human effort is what actually strengthens the power of sin in our lives. Our consciousness has to change. All our confidence must be on Christ and His life and ability in us. Recognize that in everything you do, it is actually Christ accomplishing it because you are dead and it is Christ who is alive in you. Apostle Paul said, “For we who worship by the Spirit of God are the ones who are truly circumcised. We rely on what Christ Jesus has done for us. We put no confidence in human effort”, Phil.3:3 (NLT). In Galatians 2:20, he went on to add that it was not him living but Christ living in and through him. In 1Corinthians 15:10, he concluded that although he worked more than the other apostles, it was not him but rather God's grace at work within him.
FAITH DECLARATION:
My confidence is in Christ alone. In everything I do, it is not I, but Christ doing it. Christ lives and works through me.
