ABOVE ONLY DEVOTIONAL FOR SUNDAY 20TH JANUARY 2019
TOPIC: *How to Judge God Faithful*
TEXT: By faith Sarah ...received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised.… from one man,
… as goodas dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude -innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore. *It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Our God is not just faithful, His faithfulness is exceedingly great. His faithfulness is so great that no matter what our conditions or circumstances may be saying, they cannot stop God from remaining faithful and fulfilling His great plans and promises in our lives. The way we judge God faithful is
by trusting Him wholeheartedly in both our good and trying times. We must come to that point where our condition does not determine our definition of God's nature and our loyalty to God. Our worship unto Him must not be disturbed by anything. Our trusting God does not determine God's faithfulness, 2Tim.2:13. Rather, it helps us experience His faithfulness. Moreover, it prevents us from cutting ourselves out of the mercy, grace and blessings of God's love and promises that He intends to manifest in our lives.

Habakkuk 3:17-19 (Living Bible) says, Even though the fig trees are all destroyed, and there is neither blossom left nor fruit; though the olive crops all fail, and the fields lie barren; even if the flocks die in the fields and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will be happy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; he will give me the speed of a deer and bring me safely over the mountains. No matter what you are going through right now, don't say “why me”? Keep declaring that God is faithful and keep holding to His promises. Psalm89:34 says, “My covenant will I not break, nor alter the thing that is gone out of my lips. One thing that God cannot do is to lie (Num.23:19). He will not start with you.
Prayer:
I declare that You are faithful, O God! As I declare your promises overmy life right now, I know You will bring them to pass!
