The Pathway to Glory

2Corinthians 3:18, Romans 8:17-18, 2Corinthians 4:17. But we all, beholding as in a glass the glory of the lord, are changed into the same image from glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. *...if so be that we suffer with him,
that we may be also glorified together. ..the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. *For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.
One way through which God’s glory increases in our lives is as we behold God’s glory in our time of fellowship with Him (Psa. 27:4); particularly when we focus on the finished work of Christ. 2corinthians 4:6 confirms that the glory of God is in the face of Jesus. When Jesus was on the mountain praying to the Father, the glory of God came upon Him and He was transfigured (Luke 9:28-29). 2Peter 1:17 says, Jesus received honour and glory as God the Father spoke to Him. And even though he didn’t realise it, Moses’ face began to shine because of his encounter in God’s presence, Exodus 34:29. Every time you fellowship with God, His glory increases upon your life.

Another thing that increases the glory of God upon our lives is our perseverance, trust and commitment to God even when we pass through trials and tribulations. In John 17:1 Jesus prayed and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son may also glorify thee. Do you know the hour He was referring to? He was referring to His having to suffer and die on the cross. It was a time for Him to do God’s will and for God’s name to be glorified in His life. Like our second text above says, suffering with Christ causes us to be glorified together with him. These sufferings cause God’s glory to be revealed in us. They make us more like Christ. When the Bile refers to the fact that all things we go through ultimately make us more like Christ. Rom. 8:28-29. Knowing this causes us to rejoice and to face trials victorious. James 1:2.

I receive your grace, Father God, to spend time in fellowship with you and to stand strong and trust you in my trying times.
