Watch ye and Pray!
Isaiah 62:6-7 (NIV), Luke 22:31-32 (NKJV), Matthew 26:41 (NIV)
I have posted watchmen on your walls, Jerusalem; they will never be silent day or night. You who call on the LORD, give yourselves no rest, and give him no rest till he establishes Jerusalem and makes her the praise of the earth.*… “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you,...”* “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

It is good to be a very observant, sensitive and proactive person like we studied yesterday, and as a child of God you must also know how to pray fervently about things going on around you and in the lives of others. Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) says “do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Don't just be concerned about things that are happening, pray about them. Don't just complain to people; pray unto God. We must learn to pray about everything because God wants to give us His grace and direction and manifest His power in every area of our lives and in the lives of others. No matter how small or insignificant they may look. Your prayers can help and prevent a lot of evil from happening even in the lives of others.
Sometimes we may just need to thank God about things, people or situations and at other times we may need God's Hand to move over certain things, people and situations. In the place of prayer, God also sharpens our sensitivity and the Holy Spirit can show us and prepare us for things to come. Ephesians 6:18 (NIV) says “and pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people.” Be conscious of the help of the Holy Spirit as you pray, Rom.8:26-27. Your prayers are going to have great effect, James 5:16.
PRAYER FOCUS: Pray in the Spirit right now and pray as you are led concerning the things and people that God stirs up in your heart.
