Don't Cut Yourself Out

Don't Cut Yourself Out

John 15:5-8 (NIV)
I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers; … If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be given you. This is to my Father's glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.

Author PhotoYou are connected to Christ in the same way that a branch is connected to its vine or stem. The branch is one and the same with its vine and the very same life that flows in the vine flows in the stem. Child of God, you are one with Christ (1John 4:17, 1Cor.6:17) and the very same glorious life of God that flows in Christ also flows in you. You are His branch and His extension on the earth and therefore, you are as unstoppable as He is. Of course, the devil wants to pluck us out of this powerful connection that we have with Jesus, but he can't. In John 10:27-30 (NIV), Jesus said, My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand. I and the Father are one.

But we have to stay in faith and remain in close fellowship with God. One of the primary ways to do this is by meditating on His word and praying. The life of God is continually stirred up in us as we meditate on His word and pray it out in faith. Meditation and prayer connect us to God, feed our spirit, build our faith and cause the power and blessings of God to flow in our lives. When you allow things to distract or discourage you from spending time in God's word and in prayer, you prevent yourself from being like a tree planted by the rivers of water that always prospers, Psa.1:2-3. Stay connected to God via His word and prayer. The Holy Spirit will keep guiding you.
PRAYER:  I thank you, Heavenly Father, for Your spirit, life, power and blessings that are continuously stirred up in me as I meditate on Your word.
