2Corinthians 8:1-4 (GNB) …we want you to know what God's grace has accomplished in the churches in Macedonia. They have been severely tested by the troubles they went through; but their joy was so great that they were extremely generous in their giving, even though they are very poor. … they gave as much as they could, and even more than they could. Of their own free will they begged us and pleaded for the privilege of having a part in helping God's people in Judea.
Our text above represents a little picture of what the revelation of God’s grace can accomplish in anyone that is adequately exposed to it. Just as the grace of God is so powerful and amazing, our understanding of His grace also produces powerful and amazing effects in our lives. Apostle Paul was amazed at the transformation in the lives of the believers in the Macedonian church simply because of their encounter with Grace. Their attitude was not determined by their circumstances. Rather, it was a reflection of the revelation of God’s grace that they were being exposed to. They manifested amazing love, joy and long suffering willingly; without being forced or cajoled by anyone. In 2Corinthians 8:5 (GNB), Apostle Paul said, “it was more than we could have hoped for! First, they gave themselves to the Lord; and then, by God's will they gave themselves to us as well.”
The grace of God is very powerful and as it fills your heart, it will transform your life also. In Acts 20:32, Apostle Paul said, And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. The revelation of God’s grace builds us up and causes us to walk in more of our divine inheritance. In Acts 20:24 and Galatians 1:6, Apostle Paul revealed that the gospel is about the grace of God in Christ Jesus. Grace and truth came by Christ, John 1:17! I pray for you that God will continuously fill you with the revelation of His life transforming grace.
PRAYER FOCUS: Ask God to fill you more and more with the revelation of His great love and grace available to you in Christ Jesus.
