God will bring out the greatness He has put in you

Psalms 18:31-35 (NLT), Psalm 71:21 (NKJV)
For who is God except the Lord? Who but our God is a solid rock? God arms me with strength, ... he makes my way perfect. He makes me as surefooted as a deer, enabling me to stand on mountain heights. He trains my hands for battle; he strengthens my arm to draw a bronze bow. You have given me your shield of victory. Your right hand supports me; your help has made me great. *You shall increase my greatness, and comfort me on every side.

God has made you great in Christ and as you follow Him, He will bring out that greatness for the world to see it and be blessed by it. In Deuteronomy 28:1 & 13 (NKJV), God told the children of Israel through Moses that He will set them on high above all nations of the earth and that He would make them above only and not beneath; if they will obey His voice and follow His ways. In 2 Chronicles 27:6 (NLT) the Bible declares that, “King Jotham became powerful because he was careful to live in obedience to the Lord his God.” After Isaac obeyed God's voice not to go down to Egypt during the time of famine, but to stay in the land and sow, the Bible says that “Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him. And the man waxed great, and went forward, and grew until he became very great:”Gen.26:12-13.

In our text above David acknowledged that he became great through God's help. One of the first promises God made to Abraham if he would follow Him was that He (God) would make his name great, Gen.12:2. Real promotion does not come from anyone or anywhere else but from God alone, Psa.75:6. Put your trust in Him and keep following Him. The Lord will set you on high and He will make you above only in every area of your life as you continue to believe in Him, obey His voice and follow His ways. He is bringing out all of the greatness He has deposited in you in Christ.

PRAYER: My eyes are on you O Lord. I yield myself to you and I commit myself to follow your ways. I know you are lifting me up.
