You Are Alive with Christ!

Colossians 2:13-15 (NIV)
When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins, having canceled the charge of our legal indebtedness, which stood against us and condemned us; he has taken it away, nailing it to the cross. And having disarmed the powers and authorities, he made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross.

The gospel of Christ's resurrection is incomplete without the revelation that we have been raised up together with Him! Colossians 3:1 (GNB) makes it clear: “you have been raised to life with Christ, so set your hearts on the things that are in heaven, where Christ sits on his throne at the right side of God.” Beloved, we have not only been forgiven of all our sins, as reflected in our text above, we are also dead to sin and instead alive to righteousness. This is why 1Corinthians 15:34 implores us to “awake to righteousness, and sin not; for some have not the knowledge of God: I speak this to your shame.” God wants us to awaken or increase our consciousness of the new life that we now have because we are now alive with Christ.

You are free from the death that Adam brought upon all mankind. The Bible says, “For just as all people die because of their union with Adam, in the same way all will be raised to life because of their union with Christ.”1Cor.15:22 (GNB). Romans 5:17 further reveals that death reigned over all men because of Adam; but much more, we who receive God's abundant grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life through Christ! Because you are alive with Christ, you will be victorious, you will dominate and reign just like Christ in every area of your life. As He is, so are we in this world, 1John 4:17. As the life Jesus manifested after He resurrected was superior to the life He manifested before His death, you and I now have a more superior life than the life we had before we died with Christ.

PRAYER FOCUS: Rejoice and thank God for making you alive with Christ! Declare in faith that by the life of Christ, you reign in life.
