Righteousness and Dominion

Proverbs 28:1 (NKJV), 2Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)
The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion. *Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ's behalf, be reconciled to God. For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Your consciousness of the righteousness that God has given you in Christ plays a major role in your ability to walk in dominion. Righteousness is both a state, nature and a lifestyle. God has declared you not guilty and has given you His nature so that you can live like Him. On the Cross, Christ became sin for you and you became righteous like God. Doing good works does not make you righteous. Your understanding and receiving the righteousness that God has given you in Christ empowers you to manifest God's righteousness. The law could not make us righteous; only Christ's death could, Rom.8:3. Apostle Paul said “I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain”, Gal.2:21. In Philippians 3:9 (NLT), Apostle Paul said “... I no longer count on my own righteousness through obeying the law; rather, I become righteous through faith in Christ. For God's way of making us right with himself depends on faith. By your faith in Christ you are righteous.

Sin is no more our nature. If peradventure we sin (1John 2:1), God has made provision for us to receive His forgiveness and cleansing, 1John 1:9. But we don't continue in sin because we hate it and we are dead to it, Rom.6:1-2. We perfect holiness in the fear of God, 2Cor.7:1. As you continue to grow in the consciousness of God's righteousness that you have, you will walk in greater victory and dominion in every area of your life; even in your prayers. James 5:16 says the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I thank you for making me righteous. Help me to grow in the consciousness of your righteousness in me.
