The Cry for Souls
cts 16:9-10 (NIV)
During the night Paul had a vision of a man of Macedonia standing and begging him, "Come over to Macedonia and help us." After Paul had seen the vision, we got ready at once to leave for Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. Like the vision Apostle Paul saw in our text above, there are souls crying for help and salvation all around. Do you see them and do you hear their cry? Today, God wants to impregnate your heart with more passion and vision for the lost. In Luke 16:19-31, Jesus described the rich man who was in hell crying for someone to be sent to preach to his five brothers who were still on earth. He did not want any of his relatives to end up in hell the same way he had. You might be saved alright, but how about your relatives and loved ones? Have they all found Jesus the same way that you have? There should be a cry in your heart for them to experience God's salvation. As such, you must pray for them and make every effort to preach the gospel to them. Your neighbours, colleagues and friends should also not be left out. In the parable of the lost coin (Luke 15:8-10), something amazing happened. The coin was in the house but it was lost. The owner of the coin had to do everything possible to find it. In the same way, there are many who are in the house of God who remain lost. Do you have a passion for such people or are you satisfied simply because they are in the house of God? What are you doing about their state? Today, may the passion that drove Christ to the cross fill your heart and make you eager to save the lost today. PRAYER FOCUS: Cry out to God for the salvation of everyone around you that you know is not yet saved. Ask God to use you to reach out to them. Ask God to touch them and transform their lives. | |
