1 Thessalonians 5:18 (KJV) In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
God's will for us in Christ Jesus is that no matter the trial, problem or challenge we encounter in life, we remain thankful to Him always and at all times. This is because through Christ, we are already victorious and triumphant over the storms and challenges of this life.
Giving thanks in everything is not simply limited to just praising God in the good times, but also in the hard times. You see, it is relatively easy to praise God when things are rosy but when adversity arises, we feel forsaken, deserted and start to grumble and complain. But Hebrews 13:5b (KJV) says, “For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” Surely, our father will never leave nor forsake us.
The reason we are asked or instructed to give thanks in everything is because we have been made more than conquerors in Christ. God wants you to know that you are greater and stronger than whatever confronts you here on earth. And for every challenge in life, you are already an overcomer because you are in Christ. 1 John 5:4-5 (NIV) says, “for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.”
Jesus stood at the grave of Lazarus and gave thanks to the Father for already hearing Him, John 11:41. If you have not already cultivated that habit, acquaint yourself with the word and start to praise and thank the Father because He has already made all provisions available for you in Christ Jesus. If your body feels sick, thank Him; not for the sickness but for healing you already have in Christ, 1Peter 1:24. If you are in poverty, thank Him because Christ became poor to make you rich, 2 Corinthians 8:9. No matter the situation, thank Him because you are a victor in Christ Jesus. Glory to God.
PRAYER: Father, I thank You for your grace that is available to me always. Thank You for helping me cultivate the thanking mentality at all times in Jesus' name.
