Acts 12:5-7 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.
In Matthew 16:18-19, Jesus said He would build His Church and that the gates of hell would not prevail against us. He promised to give us the keys of the kingdom and declared that whatsoever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatsoever we loose on earth shall be loosed in Heaven. We are a people of power. We are the body of Christ and all power in Heaven and on earth now belongs to Christ.
We are enforcers of the will of God and have been given the authority to ensure that God's kingdom comes and His will is done on earth as it is in heaven. If we do not make use of this authority, evil will continue to prevail around us and the lives of men will continue to be enslaved and destroyed by the enemy.
When the church in our text above arose and prayed concerning Peter, the power of God was manifested and Peter was released. An angel of God sprang into action to execute God's will in that situation. As we arise, unite and pray concerning issues around us in our nation, the church, our families and our lives, we also activate the operation of angels. We have battalions of angels at our disposal(Heb.1:13-14) and whenever we declare God's word and pray God's will, the angels of God are dispatched to minister and execute the will of God on our behalf, Psa.103:20.
PRAYER FOCUS: Ask God in faith for His mighty deliverance upon our nation, the church and our families. Pray that God will show Himself strong on our behalf.
