Do Not Give the Devil Access
James 4:7, 1Peter 5:8-9
Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. *Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

When the devil attempts to steal, kill and destroy, he does not appear as a black dragon holding a large pitch fork, as he is often depicted in pictures. Rather, he comes in the most unsuspecting and deceptive ways. He comes with lies and deceptions. He uses temptations that appear pleasing and pleasurable. However, in reality they will eventually lead to the entrapment and destruction of every soul that is carried away by them.
Another ploy of the enemy is that he often attempts to challenge and conflate the word of God in the same way he did with Eve in Genesis 3:1-4. He will tell you that God did not really mean what He said. However, remember that the enemy is running to and fro the earth, looking for whom to devour with fear, sin or anything that will divert men from God's will for their lives. He also endeavours to occupy the earth by influencing the minds of those who yield to him.
Child of God, your heart does not belong to the devil, so don't give him any space within which to operate. If you make any room for the enemy, He will take more from you than you could ever imagine. The best way to shut the devil out is to consistently open the door to Christ. The strength to resist the devil flows from continually submitting yourself unto God and keeping your mind stayed on Him. Keep growing in your faith. Keep drawing near to God. Your passion to please God and the truth of God's word that is fresh and alive in your heart will keep you from being lured and deceived by the devil.
PRAYER: Heavenly Father, I receive grace today to continuously draw nearer to You and to keep submitting myself to You. As I do this, I shall remain strong and victorious in You and the devil will have no place in my life.
