Responding to God's Mercies and Grace
Romans 12:1 (GNB), 2Corinthians 4:1-2 (GNB)
So then, my friends, because of God's great mercy to us I appeal to you: Offer yourselves as a living sacrifice to God, dedicated to his service and pleasing to him. This is the true worship that you should offer. *God in his mercy has given us this work to do, and so we do not become discouraged. We put aside all secret and shameful deeds; we do not act with deceit, nor do we falsify the word of God. In the full light of truth we live in God's sight.

Our in depth understanding of the great magnitude and awesome nature of God's mercies has taught us how to value and respond rightly to His grace in our lives. God has lavishly poured out His mercy and grace upon us because of Jesus. Apostle Paul repeatedly attributed everything about His life to the mercies and grace of God. The mercies and grace of God did not cause him to misbehave in any way; rather, they rendered him so humble and grateful that he sought to yield himself more to God so that His grace could work and manifest both in and through his life.
Titus 3:4-8 (NKJV) says, “but when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life. This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to affirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men.” Your understanding of the mercies and the grace of God, like Paul, will cause you to yield yourself to God and commit yourself to good works.
PRAYER: Meditate on God's great grace and mercies in your life from the time of your salvation. Yield yourself to Him right now.
